Cockatiels

I am probably a bit partial since my very first pet bird was indeed a wonderful sweet little angel of a cockatiel! This is another really great first bird choice and I know many experienced parrot owners who would not live without a cockatiel in their family. They usually are very good with being handled by several family members and friends. They are available in many different color mutations. Limited vocabulary if any, they should have lots of toys and you should rotate them out so they don’t get bored. Show them you love them by interacting with them everyday and they will love you very much in return. My cockatiels are weaned on to a diet of pellets, small amount of seed about 3 times a week and fresh food.
