There is a reason I
choose to raise certain parrots and the
quakers are one of my favorites among
many! These small parrots are just about
the size of a cockatiel with a more
bulky frame, so cage recommendation is
that equivalents of a cockatiel size
cage. These guys have big parrot
personalities in a cute compact size.
Give them lots of chewable and shredable
toys in the cage to keep them
entertained. Because of their size and
personality they have been one of the
birds chosen to make a great first time
companion bird as well as being sought
after by many experienced bird owners.
They have excellent talking abilities,
male and females are completely equal in
this skill! I wean my Quakers on to
pellets and offer a small amount of seed
as a treat in controlled portions no
more than 2 to 3 times a week and I also
give them a mixture of fruits, veggies
and grains every day. Imagine how bored
you would be if you had to eat the same
bowl of pellets every day. If you have
not done so already read the “about us
page”, this describes how I expect the
birds I sell to be cared for, and please
also read the “Parrots
Bill of Rights”.
